A garden and a view and a villa on lago maggiore

Our house was built in 1884 in the small, authentic, Italian village of San Pietro on Lake Maggiore and was renovated softly few years ago. Villa Rosa is for us all about the family and friends. It is very familiar and in some ways wonderfully imperfect - just the way we like it. It is one of those places, where we enjoy sunrise and sunset equally. And all there is in between.

And now we are happy to open our doors and share this place with you.

From the Kitchen to the Tower

The villa offers all you may need: a spacious, open kitchen, a living room with a fireplace, four comfortable bedrooms on the second floor and a very isolated library for some a breath-taking 180°view in the tower of the garden with pool, Lake Maggiore and Piedmont.

Driveway seen from the timberyard — The villa has many entrances, this one is a side one leading directly into the living room.

driveway — You can easily park 2 cars on the side of the villa, just behind the automatic gate or in the parking area in front of the church, 50m from the house.

Lavender Path — Nose charming lavender while entering the garden-side terrace.

Garden Side Entry — On a 10-person wooden table you enjoy dinners in a good company, while watching the sun slowly dip behind the hills over Lago Maggiore.

Entry — ...one of our favorites is to start the day on the stairs with a cup of coffee in a good company.

Kitchen — The heart of the villa: fully renovated with an oven, a four-burner gas stove, dishwasher and all you need (although we are rather friends of simplicity so please do not expect to find here any fancy electronic kitchen supplies). BWT...while cooking, do not forget to use the bay leaves straight from the garden :-)

Living room — The living room is full of our memories - a few generations table that can easily sit 12 people the 100 year old piano that traveled over many borders in the past, following family’s path, and many other little time stamps meaning a lot to us.

Living room 3 — ... with perfect place to watch the fore or TV :-)

lake side Bedroom — Garden-side bedroom with a cozy queen-size bed and a view on the stars directly from it. There is also a reading chair and a great block box wall that you can use to store your stuff during holidays.

Bedroom East — East-side bedroom with two single beds (and one additional matrace beneath, that can slide out) and a closet, partly for your disposal.

Kids-room with a bunk bed (two 90cm beds) and a view on the lake.

The Room in the Tower — Ach, the tower room… the true soul of the house. The place were we love to hide with a beloved book and a big cup of coffee, open those 11 windows and let the imagination concur the world.

The Room in the Tower 2 — Sight on the terasse and the garden... the garden...The garden (ca6000m2) is a heart breaker of the villa, placed on a hill with countless corners to hide with a book on a benches, go for a fig hunt or enjoy some grapes.

Room in the Tower 3 — And last but not least - the pool. It is a wonderful place anytime of the day or night. Please take a special care though of the youngsters, the pool has a constant depth of 160cm - great for jumpers, but a challenge for non-swimmers (as it is also un-fenced)

RENTAL

Do you need a week of holidays? Or two? or three?

We thought of many price models and in the end we decided for the simplest, most open one. In the hope that it is the best for you:

- Price per week (Saturday-Saturday) EUR 2700
- End cleaning fee EUR 200

All essentials (towels, bedclothes, soap, toilet paper) are available as well as the kitchen is fully equipped. And..... we cultivate prepayment.

Villa Rosa in San Pietro has already hosted us several times, alone or in a larger group - and time and time again we were able to spend wonderful relaxing moments there. We love the stylishly furnished rooms, the spacious park incl. swimming pool, the market in Luino, the view of the lake, the mountains and the countless hiking possibilities. At Villa Rosa, dolce far niente becomes everyday life - a place we always like to return to.

Villa Rosa is a place of inspiration, of comfort. At the fireplace, on the terrace, by the cooling pool, while hiking or running over wooded hills, the soul finds time and space for new ideas. At night the stars shine in the dark sky, reflected on Lake Maggiore. From far away a dog barks. Happy singing from the village. At dinner the glasses clink.

We sent the last two weeks of August (2020) in Villa Rosa and enjoyed our stay incredibly. During our time in San Pietro we experienced Magdalena as a very helpful and uncomplicated hostess. The surrounding villages and bars, restaurants, supermarkets and gelateria are all within the walking distance. The villa is also very suitable for larger groups and is equipped for all needs. The surrounding property with pool exceeds all expectations. We had a wonderful time in Villa Rosa and we will be happy to come back again!
